A little about the festival…

The Greater Western Sydney (GWS) Music Festival has been created in response to the growing demand for a music festival tailored specifically to the Greater Western Sydney community.

The festival aims to incorporate the best elements of similar events across Australia. At the core of this event is an educational focus to support and enhance the development of participating ensembles.

Scheduled over two weekends in June 2024, the inaugural festival will be held at Rouse Hill Anglican College (7 Worcester Rd, Rouse Hill). SAVE THE DATES of June 15 & 16 and June 22 & 23, and be sure to add them to your performance schedule.

Applications are now open, with a modest entry fee of $80 per ensemble (see below for entry information). Groups can nominate the preferred day, as well as their preference for the morning, afternoon or evening (Saturday only) session. The performances will be open to the public with $10 tickets while admission is free for students / performers.

Groups will be allocated a warm-up room, and will then be invited to perform THREE contrasting pieces that showcase the group’s versatility, with at least one piece by an Australian composer or arranger. Each group will receive a professional recording with comments from one of our highly respected and qualified clinicians (appraisers). Following each performance in the main hall, one of our appraisers will give a short, positive workshop on microphone to facilitate growth and refinement.

Major percussion equipment, amplifiers, music stands and chairs etc. will be provided.
